We think this particular car warrants a few words. This is a beautiful new Cyber Gray 2009 Z06.
It belongs to John H. (“hydfixer1″ on the Corvette Forum) from Phoenix Az. He purchased it in Montana
and drove it to Phoenix. Andy flew out to Phoenix about two weeks later and drove it to the shop in Southern California for a little “tune up.” John and Andy wanted to build a street sleeper with 750 RWHP as the target and a budget of $20,000. Street manners were a priority. A big huge cam, loud exhaust etc., were not in the plan. I installed Diamond forged pistons with the stock titanium rods and stock crankshaft in a block that I had honed .005″ over. The heads were left stock with the exception of stainless exhaust valves, for safety’s sake and a dual spring kit. Our Stage 3 blower cam was installed ( very mild for a 427) along with a set of long tube headers. In order to make over 700 RWHP, we installed our custom A&A Supercharger system, added 8 rib pulleys and a DeWitt’s radiator. This entire package came in at $20,000, installed and tuned. In anyones books, thats a pretty great deal. Of course, it was inevitable that some upgrades from the original plan would end up being implemented. We added an RPS Carbon – Carbon lite twin disc clutch, B&B Fusion exhaust and Brembo Gran Turismo brakes. The car is nice and quiet with the B&B Fusion exhaust in the closed position and just loud enough with the push of a button! The cam has that “cam sound” but will drive in stop and go traffic all day long with no bucking or surging. The car was tuned for California 91 Octane, NO octane booster, and no Meth injection
See the rest of John’s photos in the gallery here.
