<p>I just wanted to post on my experience with and review on the A&amp;A supercharger kit recently installed on my 2004 C5 z06. I have been late to post and probably good as I have been able to log around 3k miles on it and able to run it through many different conditions in order to give a proper review.  I again want to thank A&amp;A for their work and customer service. Always available for questions and love what they do. Thanks Guys!!!!!</p>
<p>Words to describe briefly: incredible, better, cooler, vastly improved drivability, zero issues, fast, best decision I ever made.</p>
<p>Car:<br />
Stock 2004 C5 Z06. Only after market piece on car is a MGW short shift (new design and awesome).<br />
Black, Black<br />
Current miles: 74,500<br />
Stock everything else<br />
Oil: Royal purple XPR<br />
A&amp;A supercharger.<br />
599.51 whp/513.42 wtrq (91 octane) (crank depends on calculation)<br />
(note on torque: making 380+wtrq at 3k rpm WOW) See dyno pic<br />
Miles when installed kit: 71,500 (approx.) now 74,500 (approx.)<br />
Nitto Nt555rII tires in rear (great tire)</p>
<p>My car made this power with 12 degrees of timing! 91 octane gas. Stock ls6, stock exhaust no headers no nothing. The fit and finish of the kit is superb, I have no oil blow-by, have not lost a drop of oil since install.</p>

<p>Couldn’t be happier:<br />
Drivability:<br />
Better than stock. So much torque that you can relax more, stay in taller gears, accelerate with less fuss. No hiccups at all.</p>
<p>Cooling:<br />
It had been rather cool, for CA like around 75 F, so I waited to know how this would react. The hardest and best test was just last week. I was driving hard having some fun and traffic came to a halt (accident ahead). Temp outside was 87 F. I kept the AC on the whole time, including spirited driving, in order to fully test the system. I stayed at an average speed of around 5-10 mph for 45 minutes right after driving hard. At the time I hit traffic oil temp was at 223. (Spirited driving was up to speed of around 70 and multiple acceleration runs). While in traffic oil went down to 212 and coolant temp stayed at 196. WOW! Car never overheats and when driving hard, I get out and feel charge tube to intake and I swear it is the same temp as outside (cool to touch).</p>
<p>Speed:<br />
WOW! The only problem is that I will never be able to buy a regular car. My dad has an e55 AMG compressor and all I can say is it is slow! My z06 is awesomely fast. Cars already embarrassed: 997 turbo, R8 v10, x6m (it was a joke, while he accelerated I pumped the gas and stayed next to him). I was even with a GSXR bike! Guy was no doubt impressed.<br />
I don&#8217;t drive fast all the time and when I do I don&#8217;t go very fast, but what is nice is how dual nature the car is. One minute you have the AC blasting, radio on cruising on the freeway and the next it is a beast!<br />
Its actually kind of a sleeper.. While it is a z06, it is an &#8220;old&#8221; one in many peoples eyes and car guys know it only has 405hp. Well, lets just say they are quite surprised at how slow there cars are.. I like it this way. No special wheels, no special anything, just a black z06 that rocks.</p>
<p>The sound that this thing makes is amazing. The combination of induction growl, supercharger whine (slight), and stock titanium exhaust is breathtaking.<br />
Would I do it Again?<br />
Best decision I ever made on a car. Even if something were to break, I know that the cost and reward when back together is well worth it. Not many get to drive a 700hp car everyday.</p>

<p>Vengeance Racing in Cumming GA is known for turning out some impressive builds.  Here&#8217;s another to add to their growing list.  This C5 Z06 underwent quite a few upgrades during its stay with Vengeance.  The Vengeance team had previously installed a A&amp;A Supercharger Kit, along with some other bolt-ons.  The owner quickly became addicted to boost, and wanted more&#8230;lots more!</p>

<p>The goal for this build was to make as much HP as possible, while maintaining streetability.  The stock LS6 block was removed and replaced by a freshly built RHS 427 block.  A Vengeance spec blower camshaft, Trickflow 245cc 6 bolt heads, and ARP studs were also added.  The Vortech V3 Si-Trim was swapped out for the V7 YSi, and the factory 6 rib belt drive was upgraded to a A&amp;A 8 rib drive.  The car went on the dyno and spun the rollers with a vengeance!  The final number, 879 RWHP &amp; 749 RWTQ w/15 PSi on 93 octane!!</p>

<p>Ah&#8230;the A&amp;A C6 Ram Air Intercooler.  Notice how the top of the intercooler core is positioned right at the bottom of the frame.  It is mounted forward so as not to allow air to flow over the top of the intercooler.  We have side panels and a larger bottom panel that seals up against the front fascia.  This gives us a “Ram Air” effect through our intercooler.  No other manufacturer has spent as much time and resources on air flow management as A&amp;A.</p>

<p>The only other modifications to the motor are a custom Speed Inc. cam, and 1 7/8&#8243; headers w/cats.  With 10 pounds of boost out of the Vortech V3 Si and Speed Inc.&#8217;s tuning this LS3 now cranks out 631 RWHP, and 541 RWTQ!</p>

<p>With the supercharger kit installed, it was time to go to work on the dyno.</p>

<p>The final results after the car was all dialed in&#8230;690 RWHP &amp; 580 RWTQ with just 7 PSi of boost! That&#8217;s with stock compression and only pump gas.</p>

<p>Boost Performance in Amarillo Texas has been a A&amp;A Corvette Dealer for a few years, they&#8217;ve installed and tuned quite a few of our Supercharger Kits.  The A&amp;A kit design and performance really caught the attention of  George Hebbel, owner of Boost Performance.  When it came time to add some serious horsepower to Boost Performance&#8217;s 2007 Z06 shop car, George chose as he said on his website, &#8220;the best supercharger kit available for the C5 and C6 Corvette&#8221;.</p>

<p>George decided to leave the LS7 internals stock, bolt on the A&amp;A Supercharge Kit, swap out the cam, and swap out the headers.  Having done a few similar builds the crew over at Boost Performance knew this was the recipe for some impressive street power.</p>

<p>The Z06 went on Boost Performance&#8217;s in-house Dyojet for tuning.  With 91 octane in the tank, 12 degrees of timing, and 8.5 PSi out of the Vortech V3 T-Trim this LS7 cranked out 711 RWHP &amp;  639 RWTQ!  Awesome numbers for a stock bottom end LS7, but Boost Performance wasn&#8217;t done.  They decided to mix in some 109 unleaded octane in with the 91, and bumped the timing up a few degrees.  The power jumped up to 751 RWHP &amp; 644 RWTQ!</p>

<p>Out with the old, in with the new&#8230;well most of it.  Bret wanted to start with a freshly built motor, new heads, and new custom cam.  His previous setup included a A&amp;A Supercharger Kit with a Vortech V7 YSi, and A&amp;A fuel system.  Having been really impressed with the performance and reliability of the supercharger kit, and knowing the Vortech YSi supercharger had more boost left in it, Bradbury reinstalled it onto the new motor.  The A&amp;A fuel system would also handle the extra power, so it was kept as well.  Bret had played with nitrous in the past and decided to top the boost off with a 200 shot, just in case 1,000+ RWHP wasn&#8217;t enough for him.</p>

<p>Once Bret had finished turning wrenches, the car was loaded onto a trailer and it was off to the dyno for tuning.  The first pull off the trailer was 1,000 RWHP with just 12 degrees of timing in it!  Second pull, 1,057 RWHP.  After a few pulls Bret decided it was time to hit the Nitrous.  With the air fuel ratio still on the rich side it made 1,250 RWHP and 1,076 RWTQ!</p>
